Then here is a list of camping and hiking areas. Now, there are more hiking areas and trails on the Big Island than listed here, but due to legal reasons (i.e.. trails my be on privately owned property) these are the only ones we will mention. To get more info on other trails, pick up a book on hiking the Big Island at any local book store. These books will give you the in's and out's of getting permission to hike these trails.
