Directions:
From Kailua-Kona, drive 10 miles
south on Hwy. 11. After passing
through the town of Captain Cook,
turn right on Napo'opo'o Road. After
the second telephone pole on the
right, look for a wide open spot on
the shoulder. Park there, across the
street from the residence at 81-6236

There are two ways to get to the spot on
Kealalekua Bay where Captain Cook died: by
boat or trail. The latter involves a steep
1,325 foot decent (a real quad burner on the
way back up), with some unforgettable views
along the way. Bring a mask and fins - one
of the best snorkeling spots in Hawaii
awaits at the bottom........ |
