OVERVIEW |
|
| |
|
|
| |
The high western slopes of Mauna Kea provide
habitat for the palila, an endangered
Hawaiian finch, and this hike climbs a steep
4x4 road through prime palila country. The
area's mix of native dry land forest and
grassland also provides a home for a variety
of other Hawaiian forest birds as well as
wild turkey and introduced game birds,
moufflon sheep, and wild pigs......... |
