OVERVIEW |
|
| |
|
|
| |
The 2-Star King Kamehameha's Kona Beach
Hotel is located oceanfront in Kailua-Kona,
on what once was a favorite spot for
vacationing among Hawaiian royalty. The
budget hotel preserves the culture of the
ancient voyagers while offering value for
today's traveler in a beautiful setting.
This 460 room Hawaiian-style resort is your
gateway to an unforgettable journey of
discovery fronted by a quiet swimming cove.
Along with warm Island hospitality, the
spacious hotel lobby offers 28 shops and
boutiques.
With a view of Kamakahonu Bay, the pool and
whirlpool spa are favorite gathering points
to enjoy some down time from perhaps having
visited the volcano, or explored a coffee
plantation. Relax and enjoy a drink and even
an appetizer from the pool-side Billfish
Bar. Or you could make an appointment for an
authentic traditional Hawaiian Lomi Lomi
massage, hot stone or foot soak and foot
massage at the Ola Mai Ka Lani Massage.
There are also separate male and female
saunas, an Hawaiian Cultural Activity Center
that provides guests lei making and hula
lessons and Hawaiian history classes.
Other property amenities include a Concierge
Desk, beauty salon, same day valet laundry &
dry cleaning services, laundry facilities,
parking (fee), the Mall Shops featuring
boutiques, Made on the Big Island Outlet and
convenience store, a handy place to pick up
snacks and beverages.
The hotel's Kona Beach Restaurant has been
designated as the "Favorite Hotel Restaurant
- Neighbor Island by the Honolulu Advertiser
in 2000, 2001 and 2004. It's casual dining
with a fabulous view with each table looking
out to the ocean and Kamakahonu Bay. Open
for breakfast Monday to Saturday from 6 to
10 am, Sunday Brunch 9 am to 1 pm and dinner
on Friday & Saturday from 5:30 to 9 pm.
You'll find the Billfish Bar by the pool,
serving a great selection of appetizers and
tropical drinks from 11 am to 9 pm daily.
Every Tuesday though Saturday evening,
Hawaiian musicians perform providing the
perfect compliment to a perfect sunset.
There is also the Island Breeze Luau, held
every Sunday and Tuesday through Friday
featuring a large buffet, food cooked in an
imu (underground oven) and traditional
entertainment.
Recreation is never a problem with 4 tennis
courts, beach services, and a Travel Desk
that can arrange everything from deep sea
fishing to horseback riding. And there is
the cove the hotel is located on for safe
swimming. This is a budget hotel and the
furnishing are quite dated, but the location
is fantastic, the staff is friendly and
helpful and it is a perfect area to explore
the Big Island from. |
