OVERVIEW |
|
| |
|
|
| |
The 3-star Castle Hilo Hawaiian Hotel is a
full-service hotel that offers a great
starting off point for visitors who want to
experience an active volcano, stunning
waterfalls and the rain forests on the Hilo
side of the Big Island. The rooms feature
stunning views of Hilo Bay, Coconut Island,
the ocean, beautiful Banyan Trees, the small
town of Hilo and the magnificent Mauna Kea
dormant volcano, home to some of the world's
most important observatories. The
eight-story building curves around the bay
and features 286 rooms.
Property amenities include complimentary
parking based on availability, safety
deposit box at the front desk, laundry
facilities, broadband internet kiosk (fee)
in the lobby with printing, swimming pool,
sun deck, gift shop, beauty salon, florist
and a Royal Value Coupon Booklet full of
savings.
The Queen's Court Restaurant offers an ala
carte breakfast and lunch daily with a
buffet lunch on Friday only and a champagne
Sunday brunch. Dinner features a choice of
either ala carte or buffet, with special
seafood buffets on Friday and Saturday. The
Waioli Lounge is located in the lobby and
serves cocktails and appetizers from 5 pm
on.
The Castle Hilo Hawaiian Hotel is not a
resort and does not offer the luxuries many
visitors expect while on vacation. It does
offer however, great value and a fantastic
location along with a caring staff, clean
rooms and a laid back Hawaiian atmosphere.
The small, quirky town of Hilo has some very
good restaurants and the Farmer's Market
held on Wednesday and Saturdays has over 100
local crafters and farmers selling beautiful
produce, gift items, flowers and so much
more. The atmosphere is festive and the
ideal place to find some unique gifts to
bring back home. Hawaii residents consider
it "the place to stay" when visiting the
Hilo side of the Big Island. |
