The 3.5-Star Outrigger Fairway Villas are a
group of deluxe Townhouse Condominiums
located in the exclusive Waikoloa Resort
area on the Kohala Coast of the Big Island.
The 14 three-story buildings, with
elevators, border an 18-hole championship
golf course, The Beach Golf Course, designed
by Robert Trent Jones, Jr. The adjacent
course to the Villas is the 18-hole Jay
Morrish/Tom Weiskopf designed Kings' Golf
Course. In other words, what one could call
a golfer's dream, made even better as guests
of the Fairway Villas receive discounted
access to both courses.
The Villas are not just a golfer's dream
however; they are a dream for anyone who
enjoys beautiful landscaping, luxurious
accommodations, breathtaking sunsets,
peacefulness and time to count anything from
stars to turtles to seashells on the beach.
After a day of exploring the island you can
enjoy the free form infinity pool and
wonderful lava rock whirlpool tub or if
exercise is your form of relaxation, visit
the state-of-the-art Fitness Center. There
is also a poolside picnic area that includes
dining areas with gas barbeques and even a
commercial ice machine. There is no
restaurant on site, but you can take a short
path to Kings's Shops with an array of
exclusive boutiques, fine restaurants and
casual dining. The property is gated for
privacy, parking is complimentary and a two
night minimum stay is required.
If you stay at least three nights, your
children aged 5 to 10 traveling with you
receive a free Island Explorer Kit to use in
discovering Hawaii's ecology. One of the
most beautiful beaches on the island,
Anaehoomalu Bay, is only about one-half a
mile away, fast with a car and more
leisurely by walking.
Costco, Wal-Mart and a Safeway grocery store
are in the Kona area as well as other
smaller grocery/food outlets if you want to
take advantage of that fabulous kitchen. You
would have to drive in the opposite
direction of the Fairway Villas from the
airport, but the savings of eating breakfast
"at home" and perhaps preparing lunch to
take on an exploration of part of the island
is quite substantial, especially if you have
children. You can pick up steaks and grill
them in the picnic area, perhaps while
watching the sunset, or you can sit on your
lanai, sipping a cocktail and watch the
stars come out. So live your dream and come
