OVERVIEW |
|
| |
|
|
| |
The 3.5-star Aston Waikoloa Colony Villas on
the Big Island is a beautiful property
located in the Waikoloa Beach Resort area on
the Kohala Coast. An upscale, gated
community, the Villas are surrounded by lava
fields and close to the Big Island's most
beautiful beaches and some of its top
restaurants. Located on the 15th fairway of
the Waikoloa Beach Course, there are
stunning views of lush greenery against a
background of a black lava field, the
magnificent Mauna Kea volcano and of course,
the brilliant blue of the Pacific Ocean.
At check-in, each family member ages 12
years and younger, receives an Aston Kids
Stay, Play & Eat Free ID card, lanyard and
flyer detailing participating establishments
and their offers for each island. Guests
will also receive a Two for One free Luau
certificate with the purchase of one adult
ticket and an Aloha Book with hundreds of
dollars savings on dining, shopping,
entertainment and golf, one coupon booklet
per room.
The Villas property amenities include tennis
courts, complimentary parking, a small
fitness center with the latest equipment,
jet spa, two swimming pools, including a
free form pool and a wading pool, as well as
a children's pool. There is a clubhouse with
kitchen, lounge, deck and barbeque grills.
Guests of the Aston Waikoloa Colony Villas
also receive preferential tee times and
rates at two 18-hole championship golf
courses.
The Anaehoomalu Bay Beach is within walking
distance and is considered one of the most
beautiful beaches in all of Hawaii. It's
perfect for snorkeling, swimming, kayaking
and windsurfing, with equipment rental
available at the north end of the beach. If
you go to the far edge of the bay you can
watch turtles being cleaned by small fish -
a rare sight. Two other beaches nearby are
award-winning, including the #1 Beach in
America by Conde Nast Traveler, Hapuna
Beach.
There are some great restaurants in the
Kohala Coast area including Roy's Waikoloa
Bar & Grill for inventive and delicious
award-winning Pan-Asian cuisine; Café Pesto,
judged one of Hawaii's best restaurants by
Zagats; and Merriman's Restaurant,
considered some of the finest Pacific Rim
cuisine in Hawaii, to mention just a few. If
you want to do some cooking yourself, drive
the 25 to 30 minutes to Kona where there are
supermarkets with lower prices than would be
found at the small grocery stores in the
Kohala area.
This is the perfect resort for families with
young children, golfers and couples. If you
are looking for lots of night action and
constant activity, Kona would be a better
choice. But if you want to relax, enjoy
being together as a couple or family, this
is the ideal place to be. Watch the sunsets,
look for turtles, play golf and enjoy a
vacation you'll always remember. |
